Laura Mercier Mega-Moisturizer Cream with SPF 15 is my latest face cream obsession. You know how it goes, you try something new, like it for a few weeks, and then it moves to the back of your medicine cabinet while you're on to the next. My makeup artist friend Molly recommended I try this for my super dry skin. Hello, instant hydration. The surprisingly lightweight formula quickly absorbs, leaving my thirsty, sensitive skin feeling moisturized, not greasy. This mega-moisturizer is formulated with Vitamins C and E (powerful antioxidants), Allantoin (soothes, heals, protects skin) and glycerin (acts as a humectant to draw in moisture). I'm about half way through the jar and I’m totally buying another. Available at Sephora.com - Shannon

Welcome to our new blog addition. Every Friday we will feature a short Q&A with some of our makeup artist or hair stylist friends. Our first is celebrity makeup artist Amy Chance. We instantly bonded years ago over our mutual love for beauty, birthdays (she & mai share one, I’m the next day) and our valley girl background. She totally rocks. Some of her clients include Lily Allen, Corinne Bailey Rae, The Ting Tings (pictured) and Rooney Mara, as well as Coldplay and My Chemical Romance.
Last job you worked on? Yesterday I did red carpet looks for Corinne Bailey Rae and Ariana Grande from 'Victorious'. They were attending an event for Dior Beauty benefiting Operation Smile.
Three products in your personal makeup bag right now? MAC Power Eye Pencil in Feline - It's my favorite black liner, but unfortunately it's not a part of MAC's permanent collection. Whenever they become available I buy as many as I can and stockpile them!
Dior Addict Lip Polish - It's a beautiful lip gloss that feels soothing like a lip balm! I'm totally obsessed with the rolling applicator.
Beauty Blenders - I'm totally obsessed with these reusable pink sponges. Not only are they an eco-friendly alternative to disposables, the Beauty Blender's shape and texture helps you achieve a flawless makeup application. They're also really freaking cute!
Beauty trend you’re loving? Blue eyeshadow can be really intimidating, but I'm kind of loving the blue shades that are rolling out for Fall. I also think blush is back in a big way and I love a rosy cheek!
Nail polish you’re wearing? I'm actually wearing OPI Axxium Gel in 'You Don't Know Jacques'. It's the same gorgeous taupe-y grey shade as the lacquer, but since it's gel, it lasts a lot longer.
Beauty icon? Stevie Nicks, Debbie Harry, Jerry Hall, and Brigitte Bardot.
Favorite city? London is my favorite city outside of Los Angeles. I look to London for inspiration, and I go there whenever I get the chance!

Celebrity hair stylist Oribe is known for glamorous hairstyles and probably most famous for his work with Jennifer Lopez. When his hair care launched last year, naturally I was interested in lathering up. I recently ran out of my usual Kerastase Bain Satin which gave me the perfect opportunity to experiment. Mouth-watering packaging aside, Oribe’s Signature Shampoo & Conditioner did not disappoint. My fine hair felt so soft and manageable, plus smelled great all day. I finished my morning off by blowing my hair out with Oribe Crème for Style. The result? Shiny, swingy hair. Pretty glamorous, indeed. Available at spacenk.com - Shannon

Today, I worked with Jessica Szohr. I did Jessica's makeup for the award show and she won for Breakthrough Actress in Film. Here's what I used: For her face, I started by applying Mark For Goodness Face Moisturizer all over her skin. Next, I used Mark Face Xpert in Golden and applied it with the foundation brush. I put Mark Good Riddance Concealer in Medium/Deep around her nose and under her eyes and blended it with the concealer brush. I set her foundation with Mark Powder Buff in Golden using the powder brush. After the powder is set, I dusted on Mark Bronze Pro Powder in Bronze using the angled contour face brush. I applied this bronzer to her cheeks, forehead and chin. This powder is great for warming up the face. Then I added a powder blush, I dusted Good Glowing Blush in Sun Love Glo on her cheeks by using the angled contour face brush. For her eyes, I prepped the eyes with Please Hold Eye Primer in Medium/Dark. I applied I-Marks in Gioia mixed with Corset to her eyelid using the all over eyeshadow brush. Then, using the angled contour eyeshadow brush, I blended both shadows into the crease of the eyelid. I smudged I-Mark eyeshadow in Corset along the top and bottom lashline using the hookup eyeliner brush. I rimmed her eyes with Mark No Place to Run Eyeliner Pencil in Jet Set. These new eyeliner pencils are super longwearing and they stay on and don't move! To finish the eyes, I used two coats of Make it Big Mascara in Raven. For her lips, I used Mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Malt. I LOVE how creamy these new lipsticks are!

I did Lucy's makeup for the Teen Choice Awards 2010. Here's what I used: For the face, I applied mark Face Xpert in Golden with a foundation brush. I used mark Good Riddance concealer in Light/Medium under her eyes and blended it with the concealer brush. To the apple of the cheeks, I brushed on mark Just Pinched in Peachy using a foundation brush. I dusted Matte-nificent Powder in Natural Buff with a powder brush to set the look. Then, I added mark Bronze Pro in Pro Golden using the angled contour face brush. Then, I swept Glowdacious Illuminating Powder in Shimmed Up, using the powder brush, all over, to add a nice radiance. For the eyes, I applied mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow Duo in Surreal (Bronze Color) from the lashline to the crease using the concealer brush. This long wearing shadow is perfect alone or layered underneath other shadows. Using the angled contour eyeshadow brush, I added mark I-Mark shadow in Gioia into the crease and blended up towards the browbone. Next, I lined the upper and bottom lashline using the eyeliner brush with I-Mark eyeshadow in Java. I rimmed the inner eyes with mark Eyemarker pencil in Jet. I finished the eyes with two coats of mark Make It Big Mascara in Raven. For the lips, I used mark Juice Jems Gloss in Fig.
