Ali Larter: Friends Without Borders Gala

Ok, so last night, I also did Ali's makeup for the same event. She's wearing a creamy beige dress from Calvin Klein. This is what I used on her: I started with Mark's NEW Moisturizer called Calm & Composed. This moisturizer leaves your skin dewy and fresh. Ali loves dewy skin! Then I applied Mark Face Xpert in Natural using the Foundation Brush. For her cheeks, I used Mark's Just Pinched Cream Blush in Nude. I applied this to the apples of her cheeks using the Concealer Brush. I set her foundation and blush with Mark Matte-nificent Powder in Natural Buff using the Powder Brush. I only dusted this powder to her T-Zone(forehead, nose and chin). For her eyes, I used Mark's NEW Longwear Eye Pencil in Solid Gold to rim the bottom of her eyes. If you're worried about your eyes shrinking or becoming smaller, this new shimmery bronze gold color will be perfect for adding detail to the eyes without closing up the eyes. Then, I lined her top eyelid with Mark's NEW Longwear Eye Pencil in Jet Set. I mixed I-Mark shadows in Corset and Java and applied them on her lids using the All Over Eye Shadow Brush. I layered these two shadows on top of the eyeliner. I blended the shadows into the crease using the Angled Contour Eye Shadow Brush. I finished her eyes with Mark's Make It Big Mascara in Raven-using two coats. For her lips, I first used Mark's Dew Drenched in Skinny Dip and layered Mark's Juice Gem in Fig.

Amy Smart: Friends Without Borders Gala

Last night, I did Amy's makeup for the Friends Without Borders Los Angeles Gala. She's wearing a black dress from Catherine Malandrino. This is what I used on her: I started with Mark's NEW Moisturizer called Calm & Composed. This moisturizer is super hydrating and great for sensitive skin. Though I like to use it on all skin types. Then I applied Mark Face Xpert in Natural using the Foundation Brush. For her cheeks, I used Mark's Just Pinched Cream Blush in Peachy-this is a NEW beautiful coral color blush coming out next year. I applied this to the apples of her cheeks using the Concealer Brush. I set her foundation and blush with Mark Matte-nificent Powder in Natural Buff using the Powder Brush. For her eyes, I used Mark's NEW Longwear Eye Pencil in Jet Set to rim her eyes. These new pencils are AMAZING!!! They're so creamy and long wearing, they're perfect to line on the inside of the eyes. I swept I-Mark shadow in Gioia on her lids using the Angled Contour Eye Shadow Brush. I finished her eyes with Mark's Make It Big Mascara in Raven-using two coats. For her lips, I used Mark's Lip Exotic Gloss in Rush.

Beauty Obsession: The Lip Scrub Creme Brulee

Yes, you guessed it. Another shameless plug for Thebeautycloset.com but with good reason. I was one of the first stores to carry The Lip Scrub by Sara Happ back in 2005 when she was making it in her kitchen. We have been loyal to her since the beginning and introduced the product to many who can't live without it. Last year, Sara introduced The Lip Slip, a moisturizing lip balm/gloss hybrid that perfectly complements The Lip Scrub in functionality. (Hello, scrub + moisturize = pretty lips.) And now I'm giddy for her holiday addition. Just the thought of it makes my mouth water. Simply, the lip scrub® addition we have been waiting for. Hints of warm vanilla, the lightest creamy caramel, pastry-worthy sugar without the calories. But just like the real thing, this Limited Edition Crème Brûlée will be gone much too fast. Plus it makes an adorable stocking stuffer for those sweetest in your life. Pick up yours at thebeautycloset.com.

Marley Shelton: Untitled Premiere

Today, I did Marley's makeup for the premiere of Untitled. She's wearing a navy dress by Tibi, so I gave her sexy, smokey eyes do go with it. Here's what I used: For her face, I started by applying Mark For Goodness Face Moisturizer all over her skin. Next, I used Mark Face Xpert in Golden and applied it with the foundation brush. I put Mark Good Riddance Concealer in Light/Medium around her nose and under her eyes. I set her foundation with Mark Powder Buff in Honey using the powder brush. After the powder has set the foundation, I dusted Mark Bronze Pro in Pro Golden to her cheeks, chin and forehead, using the blush/bronzer brush. For her eyes, I swept on I-Mark in Night Owl layered with Corset. I applied it with the all over eye shadow brush from the lashline to the crease. I took the angled contour eye shadow brush and blended the shadows towards the brows. Next, I lined the inner rim of her eyes with Mark Eyemarker in Jet. Then, I smudged Corset and Night Owl underneath, along the lower lashes, using the eyeliner brush. Finally, I used two coats of Lash Splash Mascara in Black. For her lips, I used Mark Dew Drenched in Skinny Dip.

Beauty Find: LaRocca Skincare

Every so often, I stumble upon a product that impresses me enough to be added to my beauty routine. This recently happened with LaRocca C-Gold Gel. LaRocca is created by Laura DeLuisa LaRocca who co-created DuWop cosmetics. I met Laura years ago when she was at DuWop so I was thrilled to learn she had created this lovely range of products founded on the philosophy of the natural healing and anti-aging properties of Gold. C-Gold Gel is a velvety serum made with 24K gold that helps stimulate cell regeneration, protect against UVA/UVB rays and repair sun damage, making skin appear smoother, firmer and healthier. I applied the serum one morning before I put on my foundation and was instantly impressed. Later that day, a publicist asked if I had recently had a facial because my skin looked so luminous. And now I use this serum when I want my complexion to glow. Available at www.laroccaskincare.com

Naomi Watts: Toronto International Film Festival

I was just in Toronto for the Film Festival, and got to work with Naomi Watts! Here's her beauty breakdown: For her face, I applied Mark Face Xpert in Natural using the foundation brush. I applied Mark Get Bright in Light under her eyes and Mark Good Riddance in Fair/Light around her nose. Then, I applied Mark Just Pinched in Nude to her cheeks using the foundation brush. To set her face, I dusted Mark Powder Buff in Natural using the powder brush. To finish off her cheeks, I applied Mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush in Sandy to the apples of her cheeks. For her eyes, I mixed I-Mark in Biscotti and Tiki using the all over eyeshadow brush and applied it from the lashline to the crease and faded the colors upward using the angled contour eyeshadow brush. Also, I smudged Biscotti and Tiki underneath her lower lash line, using the eyeliner brush. I added Mark Eyemarker in Jet to the top of her lashes and blended it, so that the line would be faint. To finish the eyes, I curled her lashes and added two coats of Mark Lash Splash in Black. For her lips, I used Mark Dew drenched in Rain.

Beauty Obsession: Korres Guava Body Butter

When it comes to beauty products, Mai and I tend to agree on most things. The one exception? Korres Guava Body Butter. In fact, anything that smells like a concoction of coconut and sun tan lotion, I love. That’s not so much the case for Mai. It’s kind of become a joke among us which brings me back to Korres Guava Body Butter, perhaps my favorite summer beauty indulgence. I discovered it in 2005 when I carried a few Korres products at The Beauty Closet and keep a stash of it around all year. I go through it pretty fast, so I am thrilled to see this new jumbo sized tube. I love how moisturizing it is, but I’m a sucker for it’s scent. It simply smells like summer to me – not too sweet, but not too beachy. I can’t get enough of it and hope they continue to add more items to the collection that smell this good. Available at Sephora.
