I did Amber's makeup for the Rum Diary NY Premiere. Here's what I used: For the face, I started by using mark See Things Clearly Moisturizer. Then I used mark Primed For Perfection Face Primer. After her face is moisturized, I applied mark Min-A-Real Foundation in Natural with a foundation brush. I used mark Good Riddance concealer in Light/Medium under her eyes and around her nose. I dusted mark Matte-nificent Powder in Natural Buff with a powder brush to set the look. Then, I added mark Bronze Pro in Pro Glow using the angled contour face brush. To the apple of the cheeks, I brushed on mark Good Glowing Blush in Cameo Glo using the blush/bronzer brush. For the eyes, I applied I-Mark eyeshadow in Stellar to the inner eyelid with the all over eyeshadow brush. I applied I-Mark eyeshadow in Gioia to the lid and outer crease. I applied this softly with the angled contour eyeshadow brush. I blended both colors together on her eyelid. I also smudged Gioia and Stellar along her lower lash line using the eyeliner brush. I finished the eyes with three coats of mark Lash All You Want Mascara in black to the top and bottom lashes. For the lips, I layered mark lipclick in Cha Cha and Gloss Gorgeous in Lolli and Glow Baby Glow in Girly Girl.

I applied this softly with the angled contour eyeshadow brush. I blended both colors together on her eyelid. I also smudged Jazzy and Truffle along the top lashline using the eyeliner brush. I lightly smudged Jazzy and Truffle along her lower lash line using the eyeliner brush. I finished the eyes with three coats of mark Lash All You Want Mascara in black to the top and bottom lashes. For the lips, I used mark lipclick in Toasty.

blush in Peachy to the apples of her cheeks using the foundation brush. I dusted
Mark Matte-nificent powder to her face in Ivory/Nude with a powder brush. Once
her foundation is on, I started with her eyes. I rimmed her eyes with Mark No
Place to Run eye pencil in Jet Set. Then I smudged Mark Longwear Eyeliner Duo in
Entourage(black) along her top and bottom lash line using the flat eyeliner
brush. To finish the eyes, I applied two coats of Mark Lash All You Want mascara
in black. For her lips, I applied Mark Lipclick in Bare Hug.

To finish the eyes, I used two coats of Mark Lash All You Want Mascara in Black. Next, I swept Mark Good Glowing Blush in Star Glo on the apples of her cheeks by using the blush+bronzer brush. For her lips, I used Mark Pro Gloss in Splashy.

Then, I mixed I-Mark shadows in Plum Velvet and Java and smudged it along her top and bottom lashline using the eyeliner brush. I blended the edge of the crease with a clean blending brush. This will ensure that the color fades into the skin and looks subdued. To finish the eyes, I used two coats of Mark Lash All You Want Mascara in Black. Before I apply her foundation, I'll clean up any fallen eyeshadow with Mark Make It Go Away wipes. Then, I applied Mark Min-A-Real cream to powder foundation in Buff with the foundation brush. I put Mark Good Riddance Concealer in Fair/Light around her nose and under her eyes and blended it with the concealer brush. Then, I applied Mark Just Pinched in Nude on the apples of her cheeks by using the foundation brush. For her lips, I used Mark Lipclick Lipstick in Toasty.

I started with the eyes so that I can wipe off any fallout from the eyeshadow, so that it doesn't mess up any of the foundation. First, I applied mark Please Hold Eye Primer in Light to Medium. Then, I mixed I-Mark eyeshadows in Corset and Gioia to the inner and outer eyelid with an eyeshadow brush. I used the angled contour eyeshadow brush to blend the edge into the crease. I mixed I-Mark shadow in Dragonfly and Stellar together, and applied it to her inner eyelid, blending it outward, into the crease, but making sure it is prominent enough to be seen while her eyes are open. I smudged Corset and Gioia to the top and bottom lashline using the eyeliner brush. I finished the eyes with two coats of mark Lash All You Want Mascara in black. After her eyes are finished and I cleaned her skin with mark Make it Go Away wipes, I applied mark Min-A-Real Foundation in Natural with a foundation brush. I used mark Good Riddance concealer in Light/Medium under her eyes and around her nose. Then I used Just Pinched in Peachy using the foundation brush. I dusted mark Matte-nificent Powder in Natural Buff with a powder brush to set the look. Then, I added mark Bronze Pro in Pro Glow using the angled contour face brush. I set her foundation with Mark Powder Buff in Natural using the powder brush. After the powder is set, I dusted on Mark Bronze Pro Powder in Pro Glow using the angled contour face brush. I applied this bronzer to her cheeks, forehead and chin. Then I added a powder blush, I dusted Good Glowing Blush in After Glo on her cheeks by using the angled contour face brush. For her eyes, I applied I-Mark eyehadow in Biscotti using the all over eyeshadow brush to her inner eyelid. Then, using the eyeshadow brush, I applied I-Mark eyeshadow in Gioia to her middle and outer eyelid, from the lashline to her crease. I used the angled contour eyeshadow brush to blend Gioia into the crease of the eyelid. As a liner, I applied I-Mark eyeshadow in Java along the upper lashline using the hookup eyeliner brush. I smudged Gioia along the bottom lashline using the hookup eyeliner brush. To finish the eyes, I used two coats of Lash Splash Mascara in Black. For her lips, I used Mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Bare Hug.

Yesterday, I did Hailee's makeup for the Critics Choice Awards. Here's what I used: For her face, I started by applying Mark Calm & Composed Moisturizer all over her skin. This moisturizer is great for dry, sensitive skin. Next, I used Mark Face Xpert in Natural and applied it with the foundation brush. I put Mark Good Riddance Concealer in Light/Medium around her nose and under her eyes. This concealer melts into the skin, so it's easy to blend and hide blemishes and imperfections. For blush, I applied Mark Just Pinched in Nude on her cheeks by using the foundation brush. Then, I set her foundation with Mark Matte-nificent powder in Buff/Natural using the powder brush. I chose this powder because Hailee's skin didn't need more coverage, it just needed to be set and the shine to be taken away. For her eyes, I prepped the eyes with Mark Please Hold Eye Primer in Light/Medium. I applied Mark Celestial Eyes Shimmery Cream Shadow in Grey Storm, mixing the darker color, to her eyelid using the all over eyeshadow brush. Then, using the angled contour eyeshadow brush, I blended Grey Storm into the crease of the eyelid. I added the lighter color of Grey Storm to her inner eyelid. Then I smudged Mark No Place to Run Eyeliner Pencil in Foxy Brown along the top and bottom lashline using the hookup eyeliner brush. I used two coats of Make It Big Mascara in Black. To finish the eyes, I set her brows with Mark Brow Factor Hook Up Brow Gel. For her lips, I used Mark Glow Baby Glow lip gloss in Secret.

I did Ashley Greene’s makeup for her Mark press launch. Here's what I used: For the face, I started with Mark Calm and Composed Moisturizer. Once all the creams were on, I warmed up the crease of the eye with I-Mark eyeshadow in Tiki, using the angled contour eyeshadow brush. This brush helps to blend and soften the shadow into the crease. I used an eyeliner brush to smudge Tiki along the bottom lashes, too. Next, I used On the Edge liquid eyeliner in Cleo on the top lash line to define the eye. I finished the eyes with two coats of Mark Make It Big Mascara in Raven. For the lips, I mixed Mark Lipclicks in Whiney and Cha Cha and then added Lots of Lacquer Gloss in Pop.

Tonight, I did Kristen's makeup for the You Again Premiere. She's wearing a yellow and white dress by Valentino, so I gave her bronzy eyes and nude lips to go with it. I put Mark Good Riddance Concealer in Light/Medium around her nose and under her eyes. I set her foundation with Mark Powder Buff in Natural using the powder brush. After the powder has set the foundation, I dusted Mark Bronze Pro in Pro Golden to her cheeks, chin and forehead, using the blush/bronzer brush. For blush, I dusted Good Glowing Blush in After Glo, using the angled contour face brush. For her eyes, I started with the On the Dot Eyeshadow Palette. Using the hookup eyeshadow brush, I applied the "cream" shadow to her inner eyelid, for a highlighting effect. Then, using the same brush, I swept on the "bronze" color to the middle of her eyelid blending outwards. I applied the "dark brown" shadow to her outer corners and blended it into the crease, upwards, towards the brows, using the angled contour eyeshadow brush. Next, I smudged the "dark brown" shadow underneath, along the lower lashes, using the eyeliner brush. Finally, I used two coats of Scanda-Lash Mascara in Blacklash. For her lips, I used Mark Lipclick in Bare Hug.

Mascara is one department that never satisfies me which is why it’s my favorite product to try out. My drugstore mascara of choice is usually L'Oreal Voluminous but I like to switch it up every now and then. A few months ago, I got a L’Oreal Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara in a gift bag. I finally freed it of its packaging and gave it a try. Extreme Volume? Check. Smudge-free? Check. Suitable for my sensitive contact-wearing eyes? Check. After wearing it all day I had no clumps, flakes or smudges. The mascara formula is infused with collagen that supposedly plumps lashes from the inside. I will say my lashes looked pretty amazing and I loved the fat applicator which coated every lash from corner to corner with its soft bristles giving me lush lashes. Beauty trend you’re loving? Blue eyeshadow can be really intimidating, but I'm kind of loving the blue shades that are rolling out for Fall. I also think blush is back in a big way and I love a rosy cheek!

Nail polish you’re wearing? I'm actually wearing OPI Axxium Gel in 'You Don't Know Jacques'. It's the same gorgeous taupe-y grey shade as the lacquer, but since it's gel, it lasts a lot longer.

Beauty icon? Stevie Nicks, Debbie Harry, Jerry Hall, and Brigitte Bardot.

Favorite city? London is my favorite city outside of Los Angeles. I look to London for inspiration, and I go there whenever I get the chance!

I applied this along the upper lashline blending unto the lid and along her lower lashline. Then, using the all over eyeshadow brush, I applied I-Mark eyeshadow in Plum Velvet to her eyelid, from the lashline to her crease. I used the angled contour eyeshadow brush to blend Plum Velvet into the crease of the eyelid. I smudged I-Mark eyeshadow in Plum Velvet along the top and bottom lashline using the hookup eyeliner brush. I rimmed her eyes twice with Mark No Place to Run Eyeliner Pencil in Jet Set. To finish the eyes, I used two coats of Lash Splash Mascara in Black. For her lips, I used Mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Bare Hug-this nude lipstick looks great on everyone.

I applied this bronzer to her cheeks, forehead and chin. This powder is great for warming up the face. Then I added a powder blush, I dusted Good Glowing Blush in Sun Love Glo on her cheeks by using the angled contour face brush. For her eyes, I prepped the eyes with Please Hold Eye Primer in Medium/Dark. I applied I-Marks in Gioia mixed with Corset to her eyelid using the all over eyeshadow brush. Then, using the angled contour eyeshadow brush, I blended both shadows into the crease of the eyelid. I smudged I-Mark eyeshadow in Corset along the top and bottom lashline using the hookup eyeliner brush. I rimmed her eyes with Mark No Place to Run Eyeliner Pencil in Jet Set. These new eyeliner pencils are super longwearing and they stay on and don't move! To finish the eyes, I used two coats of Make it Big Mascara in Raven. For her lips, I used Mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Malt. I LOVE how creamy these new lipsticks are!

Then, I added mark Bronze Pro in Pro Golden using the angled contour face brush. Then, I swept Glowdacious Illuminating Powder in Shimmed Up, using the powder brush, all over, to add a nice radiance. For the eyes, I applied mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow Duo in Surreal (Bronze Color) from the lashline to the crease using the concealer brush. This long wearing shadow is perfect alone or layered underneath other shadows. Using the angled contour eyeshadow brush, I added mark I-Mark shadow in Gioia into the crease and blended up towards the browbone. Next, I lined the upper and bottom lashline using the eyeliner brush with I-Mark eyeshadow in Java. I rimmed the inner eyes with mark Eyemarker pencil in Jet. I finished the eyes with two coats of mark Make It Big Mascara in Raven. For the lips, I used mark Juice Jems Gloss in Fig.

I did Amy's makeup for the Middle Men Premiere. Here's what I used: For the face, I applied mark Face Xpert in Golden with a foundation brush. I used mark Good Riddance concealer in Light/Medium under her eyes and around her nose. To the apple of the cheeks, I brushed on mark Just Pinched in Peachy using a foundation brush. Peachy is one of my fave colors because everyone looks good in a coral blush! Then I dusted Matte-nificent in Natural Buff with a powder brush to set the look. Also, I added mark Bronze Pro in Pro Golden using the angled contour face brush. I added bronzer to warm up her face and to ensure that her face and body would be the same color. For the eyes, I applied mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow Duo in Exposure (Taupe Color) to the inner eyelid and the bottom lashline with a concealer brush. This taupe color looks great on the lid. It's very natural looking, but yet it adds a nice glimmer to the eyes. I added mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow Duo in Entourage (Black Color) to the top lashline using the flat eyeliner brush. Next, I rimmed the inner eyes with mark Eyemarker pencil in Jet. Adding liner is a great way to make your lashes look more defined and fuller. I finished the eyes with two coats of mark Scandalash in Blacklash. For the lips, I used mark Pro Gloss in Splashy.

For her eyes, I prepped the eyes with Please Hold Eye Primer in Light/Medium. I applied I-Marks in Minx mixed with Corset to her eyelid using the all over eyeshadow brush. Then, using the angled contour eyeshadow brush, I blended both shadows into the crease of the eyelid. I smudged I-Mark eyeshadow in Corset along the top and bottom lashline using the hookup eyeliner brush. To finish the eyes, I used two coats of Make it Big Mascara in Raven. For her lips, I used Shine Tube Hook Up Lip Gloss in Sugared Almond.

Today, I worked with the super cute and funny, Aubrey Plaza. I did Aubrey's makeup for the MTV Movie Awards. Here's what I used: For her face, I started by applying Matte Chance Moisturizer all over her skin. This moisturizer is great for combination to oily skin types. Next, I used Mark Face Xpert in Honey and applied it with the foundation brush. I put Mark Good Riddance Concealer in Light/Medium around her nose and under her eyes. This concealer melts into the skin, so it's easy to blend and hide blemishes and imperfections. I set her foundation with Mark Powder Buff in Natural using the powder brush. I chose this powder because it is so hot outside, I had to give Aubrey enough coverage so that it didn't melt off her face. After the powder is set, I dusted on Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder in Pro Golden using the blush+bronzer brush. I applied the bronzer to her forehead, cheeks and chin. For blush, I dusted Good Glowing Blush in Star Glo on her cheeks by using the angled contour face brush. For her eyes, I prepped the eyes with Please Hold Eye Primer in Light/Medium. I applied I-Marks in Biscotti mixed with Tiki to her eyelid using the all over eyeshadow brush. Then, using the angled contour eyeshadow brush, I blended Espresso into the crease of the eyelid. Then I smudged I-Mark eyeshadow in Tiki along the bottom lashline using the hookup eyeliner brush . To finish the eyes, I used two coats of Lash Splash Mascara in Black. For her lips, I used M. Powerment Peach lip gloss.

Today, I worked with the NEW Face of Mark, Miss. Ashley Greene. I did Ashley's makeup for the 9th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball. Here's what I used: For her face, I started by applying Mark Calm & Composed Moisturizer all over her skin. This moisturizer is very gentle and is great for all skin types. Next, I used Mark Face Xpert in Honey and applied it with the foundation brush. I put Mark Good Riddance Concealer in Light/Medium around her nose and under her eyes. This concealer melts into the skin, so it's easy to blend and hide blemishes and imperfections. I set her foundation with Mark Matte-nificent Powder in Golden Honey using the powder brush. Ashley has great skin, so I chose this powder because it has sheer to light coverage. For blush, I dusted Good Glowing Blush in Golden Glo on her cheeks by using the angled contour face brush. For her eyes, I prepped the eyes with Please Hold Eye Primer in Light/Medium. I applied I-Mark in Biscotti to her inner eyelid using the hookup eyeshadow brush. Then I applied I-Mark in Magic to the lid, blending it outward, using the all over eyeshadow brush. Finally, using the angled contour eyeshadow brush, I blended Gioia into the crease of the eyelid. Using the flat eyeliner brush, I applied a line along the top lashes using the Keep it Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow Duo in Exposure(Black Color Only). These Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow Duos are long lasting and will stay on all night. Then I smudged I-Mark eyeshadow in Gioia along the bottom lashline using the hookup eyeliner brush . To finish the eyes, I used two coats of Lash Splash Mascara in Black. For her lips, I used Dew Drenched lipstick in Mist and then applied Glow Baby Glow Gloss in Player using the hookup lip brush. This created a soft rose color with a hint of nude.

I did Kristen's makeup for the premiere of Eclipse in Seoul, South Korea. Here's what I used: For her face, I started by applying Mark For Goodness Face Moisturizer all over her skin. Next, I used Mark Face Xpert in Nude and applied it with the foundation brush. I put Mark Good Riddance Concealer in Fair/Light around her nose and under her eyes. I set her foundation with Mark Powder Buff in Nude using the powder brush. For blush, I dusted Glowdacious in Prettied Up on her cheeks by using the angled contour face brush. For her eyes, I prepped the eyes with Please Hold Eye Primer in Light/Medium. Then, I started with On the Edge Liquid Liner in Cleo along the top lashes. Then I smudged I-Mark eyeshadow in Corset along the lashline, over the Cleo, using the hookup eyeliner brush . I smudged Corset along the bottom lashes as well using the same brush. Then, I applied Lise Watier Eye Glitter Eyeliner in Opal along the bottom liner. To finish the eyes, I used two coats of Lash Splash Mascara in Black. For her lips, I used the NEW Mark Lip Click lipstick in Coral Fixation.

I did Kristen's makeup for the event at Luna Park in Australia. I gave her cool, smokey eyes and pink lips. Here's what I used: For her face, I started by applying Mark For Goodness Face Moisturizer all over her skin. Next, I used Mark Face Xpert in Nude and applied it with the foundation brush. I put Mark Good Riddance Concealer in Fair/Light around her nose and under her eyes. I set her foundation with Mark Powder Buff in Nude using the powder brush. For blush, I dusted Good Glowing Mosaic Blush in Hush Baby, using the angled contour face brush. For her eyes, I started with I-Mark in Retro Peacock layered with Corset, using the hookup eyeshadow brush. I took the angled contour eye shadow brush and blended both shadows towards the brows. Next, I lined the inner rim of her eyes with the NEW Mark No Where to Run Eyeliner Pencil in Grass Roots. These pencils are coming out later this year and they're AMAZING!!! Then, I smudged Corset underneath, along the lower lashes, using the eyeliner brush. To finish the eyes, I used two coats of Make It Big Mascara in Raven. For her lips, I used the NEW Mark Lip Click lipstick in Tutu. These lipsticks are also being launched later this year. They are super creamy and have a lot of pigment. I can't wait for both of these products to come out for everyone to try.

I did Kristen's makeup for the ACMA. She's wearing a nude dress by Herve Leger, so I gave her sexy, smokey eyes to go with it. Here's what I used: For her face, I started by applying Mark For Goodness Face Moisturizer all over her skin. Next, I used Mark Face Xpert in Natural and applied it with the foundation brush. I put Mark Good Riddance Concealer in Light/Medium around her nose and under her eyes. I set her foundation with Mark Powder Buff in Natural using the powder brush. After the powder has set the foundation, I dusted Mark Bronze Pro in Pro Golden to her cheeks, chin and forehead, using the blush/bronzer brush. For blush, I dusted Good Glowing Mosaic Blush in Hush Baby, using the angled contour face brush. For her eyes, I started with Exposure in Dark Brown, using the flat eyeliner brush. I applied a thick line and smudged it. Then I swept on I-Mark in Tiki. I applied it with the eye shadow brush from the lashline to the crease. I took the angled contour eye shadow brush and blended the shadow towards the brows. I added Biscotti to the inner corner of the eye as a highlighter, using the eyeliner brush. Next, I lined the inner rim of her eyes with Mark Eyemarker in Java. Then, I smudged Tiki underneath, along the lower lashes, using the eyeliner brush. Finally, I used two coats of Lash Splash Mascara in Black. For her lips, I used Mark Dew Drenched in Skinny Dip and Pro Gloss in Swell.

Goodbye Shu Uemura

When I began working in the beauty industry 11 years ago, the makeup artists I interviewed introduced me to the Shu Uemura eyelash curler. Needless to say, it was an eye opening experience. Just like that, this eyelash curler became my very first "must-have" product. Mai and I were recently saddened to hear that over the next few months, Shu Uemura will be exiting the US market. (Shu Uemura Art of Hair is not being discontinued and will continue to be available in the US.) With so many stellar products, some of our favorites include the eyelash curler, cleansing oil, eyeshadow, brushes, loose powder and blushes. But all hope is not lost since the line will still be available online via the brand’s website.

Beauty Find: Dior Smoothing Lip Polish

Our friend makeup artist Amy Chance introduced me to this Dior Addict lip gloss at the Four Season’s last month. Aside from the fact that Mai, Amy and I had a blast and ate lots of goodness, it's the gloss I can't get out of my head. I was especially won over by its spin-on applicator. I mean, how brilliant is that? And so, I hit up Sephora this week and picked me up a Dior Addict Lip Polish in 004 (the newest shade in pale pink). The result? Ultra-smooth and ultra-shiny lips, without any stickiness. The revolutionary applicator has me all kinds of wound up. Yes, I bought this gloss for the roll on applicator which picks up just the right amount of product and rolls it onto my lips. But I’m keeping it because I love the overall effect of smooth lips and the color is just plain sexy.
