Beauty Obsession: Korres Guava Body Butter

When it comes to beauty products, Mai and I tend to agree on most things. The one exception? Korres Guava Body Butter. In fact, anything that smells like a concoction of coconut and sun tan lotion, I love. That’s not so much the case for Mai. It’s kind of become a joke among us which brings me back to Korres Guava Body Butter, perhaps my favorite summer beauty indulgence. I discovered it in 2005 when I carried a few Korres products at The Beauty Closet and keep a stash of it around all year. I go through it pretty fast, so I am thrilled to see this new jumbo sized tube. I love how moisturizing it is, but I’m a sucker for it’s scent. It simply smells like summer to me – not too sweet, but not too beachy. I can’t get enough of it and hope they continue to add more items to the collection that smell this good. Available at Sephora.

Selena Gomez: Teen Choice Awards

Selena is wearing a lavender one-shoulder dress by Baby Phat. I wanted to keep her looking fresh and flirty.

To get her look, I used Mark Face Xpert in Natural using the foudation brush. I applied Mark Get Bright in Natural under her eyes. Then I applied Mark Just Pinched in Nude to the apples of her cheeks using the foundation brush. Once all the creams/liquids are on, I set everything with Mark Powder Buff in Natural using the powder brush.

For her eyes, I applied I-mark in Tart to her entire eyelid, from the lashline to the browbone, using the hookup eyeshadow brush. Then I lined the top of her eyes using Mark On the Edge in Cleo, winging the outer tip of the liner, like a cat eye. I rimmed the bottom of her eyes with Mark Eyemarker in Jet. Then I finished the eyes with two coats of Make it Big mascara in Raven.

To finish the cheeks, I swept Mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush in Hush Baby using the blush/bronzer brush. I like to layer powder blushes on top of cream blushes because it will make it stay on longer.

For her lips, I used Dew Drenched in Skinny Dip.

Beauty Obsession: Cosmedicine Hydra Healer Maximum Strength Moisture Cream

On my latest trip to Sephora, I picked up this ultra-hydrating face cream by Cosmedicine. Born from a burn cream formula, Hydra Healer moisturizes my super dry and sensitive skin. (The words Maximum Strength are what totally sold me on this, btw.) I’ve only been using it at night but my skin already looks and feels better in the morning. Plus, I love it’s subtle cucumber scent. Available at Sephora. --posted by Shannon

Marley Shelton: A Perfect Getaway Premiere

Today I did Marley's makeup for the premiere of A Perfect Getaway. Marley is wearing a red grecian dress. We wanted to keep her summery with a bronze glow. She looks beautiful and is expecting to have her baby very soon!

For her face, I applied Mark Face Xpert in Honey with a foundation brush. Next, I dusted Mark Powder Buff in Honey using a powder brush. Then I used Mark Bronze Pro and applied it to her forehead, cheeks and chin using the blush/bronzer brush.

For her cheeks, I swept Mark Good Glowing Blush in After Glo using a blush/bronzer brush.

For her eyes, I applied I-mark eyeshadow in Tiki from the lashline to the crease using the eyeshadow brush. Also, I smudged Tiki along her lower lashes using the eyeliner brush. Next, I smudged Eyemarker pencil in Java along the bottom rim of her eyes. I finished the eyes with two coats of Lash Splash Mascara in Black.

For her lips, I used Mark Tinted Sheenstick in Au Natural.
